Job description

The Nordic Compensation and Benefits Unit is recruiting a new member of the team to take responsibility for pension systems and pension processes in If. The unit is responsible for Sampo Group’s remuneration strategy, encompassing fixed compensation, short-term and long-term variable compensation, executive remuneration and pensions. We also coordinate HR’s compliance processes and personnel reporting.

The unit requires in-depth knowledge of pension systems, especially defined benefit pension systems, to be able to support Accounting in assessing balance sheet and income statement effects. The pension specialist needs to have a general understanding of pension cost and pension cost development across the Nordic region and a thorough understanding of the systems in Sweden and Norway. Monitoring of trends and changes in local legislation is essential.

The unit consists of six persons, of which four are located in Stockholm and two in Espoo. Your area of responsibility will encompass pension processes, pension reforms as well as advice and support to local HR. You will be reporting to the Head of Pension and Executive Remuneration.
• You will be responsible for delivering analyses of pension costs and pension reserves to Accounting and developing the components of the pension monitoring process.
• You will be responsible for coordination and development of the quarterly/annual IAS19 process.
• You will participate in updating relevant policies and guidelines and you will also prepare necessary material for board decisions, quarterly/annual accounts and remuneration reports.
• You will be responsible for coordinating pension reforms and implementing changes in company-specific pension agreements, ensuring that the pension systems are legally compliant.
• You will work closely with the pension suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring deliveries and good co-operation. You will also monitor market trends and changes regarding pension legislation and pension agreements.

You will be working closely with other departments inside and outside of HR and with contact persons in other Sampo Group companies. Important interfaces in If are for example Corporate Accounting, Group Legal, Employment Relations and local HR departments.



Education/Requirements

A Master’s degree within a relevant field

A minimum of 5 years working experience in the pension field

Previous experience of Nordic pension projects and processes is an advantage

Excellent knowledge of English in addition to Swedish. Knowledge of Finnish is an advantage.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
